Free range red deer footage

Here is a bit of footage from a morning hunt on one of our free range properties on the 4th April 2016. Moises and I probably looked over a dozen fallow bucks and a similar number of Red Stags. Not a bad first day to the hunt. Among those animals we saw an exceptional red stag (at the end of the video) that was 14 points and 40 inches in length, as good an animal as you can expect to find in a free ranging situation. Moises and Dad continued to hunt there for another 2 and a half days and saw many animals. Moises was bow hunting and put in several stalks on good quality animals, his most successful getting within 30 yards of a very good stag standing broadside but with his vitals obscured by some brush, unfortunately it was not to be and the stag turned around and walked off without presenting an opportunity.

Here is the footage from that first day of hunting:

Moises loved the free range hunt and was certainly challenged by the animals and terrain. But wanting to harvest a stag he opted to spend the last couple days of his trip on the estate where he would for sure get some opportunities to make a shot at a trophy stag. We put in multiple stalks and finally connected with a beautiful red stag on the last evening of his hunt, he made a great shot to secure a great trophy.

"Hey Brent, It looks like you've had some good successes in recent weeks.  You have a nice operation there and I'm sure you're extremely busy. It was a pleasure hunting with you and your father.  Kristie and I really enjoyed your father's company in camp at the Te Munga property.  You're mother was also very accommodating, lovely, and her cooking was unbelievable!  Thanks for making it a trip of a lifetime (although, we hope to be back!).  The rest of our trip was amazing.  The south Island is unreal!  We ate all those back steaks while camping, and it was delicious. Good luck with the rest of your season and with the construction of your new processing building.  I hope to hear from you soon.  Kind regards to your parents." - Moises Torrent, CT USA
