Happy 2015!

Happy New Year to you all! I hope you had a good holiday break. 

Well, where did 2014 go? With another year behind us we are looking forward to another great year here at Mountain Hunters. We are fortunate enough to have a couple new people joining the team this season as we have more hunters and more hunts to offer! We have successfully renewed our 16,000 acre free range lease (Glenburn) and are filling up slots for free range stag, fallow and boar hunts. We have made some big improvements to our main lodge with 2 new queen chalets going in and a new man cave/bar.. I have had a few trail cameras out and getting some good images of the trophies for this season with many 400+ stags on the estate. I have used the last couple months to make upgrades around the lodge, and property adding new blinds and trails and also scoping out new properties and areas to add to our list. I now can offer wild boar hunts with dogs on the very best managed pig hunting property in New Zealand only 35 mins from the Lodge with the legendary pig hunter Shaun Mullins. Also goat culling hunts to 'get your eye in' on long distance shooting. We have access on another free ranging Sambar hunting property which has some world class animals. This year we started hunting Tahr and Chamois in a new area on the West Coast of the South Island which has proved to be very productive and an awesome experience along with our East Coast hunting properties. And to make our North to South Island hunt transfers more streamline, efficient and enjoyable I have a charter plane operator working with me to take clients and guides back and forth in only a 2.5 hour scenic flight instead of an all day mission. Of course small aircraft are a little more weather dependent so sometimes we may have to take the old method..  Anyway here are a few pics of stags on the property. I will update you more frequently as the year progresses. I am heading to Texas tomorrow for the show season and will be around until SCI in Vegas. We have not got a booth at SCI this season but I will be there visiting with friends so drop me a line if you will be there and we can catch up.
